Removing Urine Stains on a Mattress
Having urine stains on the mattress is truly unfortunate. It poses a daunting chore for both sanitary and health reasons. Since the mattress is not an item that you could easily chuck into the washing machine, knowing how to clean it properly is essential.
Start by blotting up as much of the urine as possible using an old towel or some paper towels. Make sure not to press too hard so as not to push the liquid deeper into the mattress. Next, cover the entire stained area with baking soda. The product will help draw excess moisture and absorb odour. Let it sit for an hour before vacuuming it up.
Then, mix some vinegar and water in a spray bottle in equal parts. Squirt some of the cleaning mixture onto the affected area. Proceed scrubbing this part, being careful not to saturate it until no trace of urine is left. Finally, set the mattress outside in the sunshine to dry.
